Stanley-one of the "great loves" in my life =)

Hello! My name is Tina Young. I am a graduate student living near Boston, MA (specifically South Hamilton, MA) and studying at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. This is my second year here and I am studying for my Master of Divinity, specializing in educational ministries.

Prior to coming here, I worked at Silicon Image, a semi-conductor company, doing chip design and verification. For my undergrad, I attended Stanford University (Go Cardinals!). I graduated in June 2001, with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and my B.A. in German Studies, literature specialty.

Many people always ask where my hometown is. Once upon a time, it used to be easier to answer. I grew up in LA county, specifically Winnetka, CA. This is southern Cal. However, in September 1997, I moved to Palo Alto to attend college and stayed on for 7 years. So, I would also consider the Bay Area, especially near San Jose, my hometown. My previous, and first, home church is New Community Baptist Church (NCBC). It is in Mountain View, CA.

As you're probably aware by now, I am a Christian. I am currently attending and a member of Cambridge Community Fellowship Church. I am by no means an amazing Christian, but I try my best, with help from God and Christian brothers and sisters. While at Stanford, I was in Kaleo, a Christian colege fellowship from my church. Post-college, I attended a Bible study group, called Joy for fellowship and Bible study. Now I am again on the search for a new Bible study group. Prior to seminary, I taught Sunday School to elementary school kids for 6 years and loved it! Many good memories! I have compiled lists of interesting Christian websites and Contemporary Christian music sites. Check them out =)!

What are my interests? They can basically be split along the lines of technical and non-technical. Starting with technical, I'm into computers and everything related to them. I'm into digital photography, robotics, computer hardware, my iPod and of course, computer strategy games, like Civilization III, Railroad Tycoon (I & II & III), The Sims II, ...

Aside from techie stuff, I'm also interested in environmentalism, music, literature, impressionistic art, crafts, ballroom dancing and theater productions (watching, rather than performing). Regarding music, I play the piano and used to play the Chinese flute. My favorite period of music is the impressionistic & contemporary and my favorite composers are Debussy and William Gillock. As for literature, I like fictional writing, science fiction, and Christian non-fiction. In crafts, I like to make oragami, crosstitch, crocheting, knitting (but I'm just starting out) and hopefully I'll pick up quilting soon.
I have also found an interest in teaching and I used to do some tutoring in math and SATs from time to time. Ballroom dancing is one of my favorite activities =) My favorite dance styles are hustle, swing, rotary waltz, polka and schaudisch. It's also a huge thing at Stanford, where I picked it up =) For more info on Stanford ballroom stuff, click here.

Well, enough talk...go check out the rest of my page. =) Thanks for coming and enjoy your stay!

Debussy and William Gillock are the greatest! =)
