Watching the Birds
Take a look in your yard
You'll be surprised what you see
A little bird of paradise
Or a black-capped chickadee
The wonders of nature
Are bountiful, you see
You just have to look for
The birds in the tree
When you do
Take notice of their size
Beak and feather colors
And look at their eyes
Is it large or small
Does it sing a pretty song?
Did you see it in summer
Or winter or fall?
All these things matter
If you want to be good
Or if you don't care
Just enjoy watching them in woods
Birds are amazing
Spectacular too
They know the seasons
Before me or you!
If you want to feed them
Here's what's right
Give them plenty of seeds
and they'll stay in sight
Don't forget some water
In cold wintery months too!
Those new little friends you made
May never have to leave you!
That's fine with me
Let them stay in my yard
God gives us such pleasures
When life seems so hard
Even more stuff to do instead of worrying about...
