The pollution of the swampland has if accelerated with the growing urban occupation of the basins hidrográficas that you/they spill the Swampland properly said. In the case of the north area of the Swampland, the subject is more preoccupying, once besides the urban pollution, they are added to the same the pollution of the claims of gold and diamond. Concomitant to that it is noticed a gradual destruction of its entornos through the nascent of the rivers, of the agrotóxicos and fertilizers of the lavouras. Another tied up ecosystem directly to the Swampland it is the Closed, whose economic use, through the plantation of extensive soy lavouras and other products, has impactado negatively the whole area of the Swampland.
Erosion
The bad use of the soil in the sub-basins that compose the Swampland does with that the processes erosivos increases of intensity year to year, increasing the amount of total residues and the transport of sediments consequently in the bed of the rivers.
Sub-basin of Rio Cuiabá
The main committed sub-basin is the basin of the river Cuiabá. In agreement with the technicians' of FEMA preliminary risings, done starting from the Project of Monitoramento of the Quality of the Water (MQA), 71 industries are potentially poluidoras, and 30,9% are responsible for the whole load of industrial origin thrown mainly in the rivers Cuiabá and Coxipó. The córregos of Prainha, Gambá, Mané Pinto, Bearded and the river Coxipó receives directly in its beds and without any treatment the load of sewer of Great Cuiabá (Cuiabá and Big Várzea). In the beaches of Santo Antonio of Leverger (the few kilometers of Cuiabá) the high registered index of fecal coliformes turns inappropriate the inhabitants' bathing and tourists.
Urban pollution
The urban pollution, besides its natural dejections, originates mainly of: - sugar-cane usinas; - butcher shops; and - curtumes.
