The Soul Eater
This weapon dates back to the times of
Sindar. It was crafted by the elves as the ultimate weapon but something
went wrong and the weapon got a mind of its own. Shortly after
Tulkas the Valar had the weapon sealed in a temple strong enough to hold out
even gods. There the weapon stayed for countless millennia slowly
weakening due to its lack of food. Recently the temple was broken into and
the weapon taken by a young elven male. At first the weapon seemed like
nothing more than a intricate long sword with some minor inkling of magic.
Within a few months however the elves closest friends and loved ones starting
dieing around him. The sword started getting more and more powerful after
that. The elf soon disappeared and hasn't been seen since.
Weapon Description:
A long sword made of a adamant mithral alloy.
Its hilt is made of pure adamant with the hide of a green dragon wrapping
it. The blade has but one rune on it that is a drawing of Tulkas the Valar
holding a sword in front of his face.
Weapon Powers:
It binds itself to its current owner never allowing
him to give it up. The weapon at first is nothing more that a +1 weapon. But as
people that are your true friends die around you it gets more powerful. True friends
being father, mother, wife, husband etc. For every friend that dies the sword
gets one more +. When it reaches +5 it takes on more powers. See diagram for
progression.

9th Incarnation: Weapon becomes very intelligent and gains the ability to cast charm person on a successful attack. If the save is failed (DC 10) there is a 30% chance the charmed person stays charmed indefinitely.
10th Incarnation: Weapon becomes fully aware of its surroundings and gains the Finger of Death ability which it uses one your close freinds (or those that are charmed permanently).
It does not get anymore powerful after this but its curse is not broken and it continues to feed off of your close friends. It never makes it apparent that it is intelligent either.
To break the curse one must give the weapon to the person they see as there closest friend and loved one. Upon the friend accepting the weapon the curse is broken from the original owner and given to the person they gave it to. There are other ways that this can be accomplised. One of them is a Mirical cast by a 20th level priest of Tulkas the Valar (or his equivilant). The first is by far the easiest, but the hardest at the same time. There is a trick to the first part. If anyone wants to know what the trick is I suggest they try and find it out on there own. But if you cant email us and we will tell you.
