Bicycle Products and Services I Recommend
Kona Mountain Bikes Where my bike was born. They have lots of cool clothing and merchandise too, although it's a bit on the pricey side, and their online ordering system is fucked up.
International Bicycle Centers Where Shutu and I first met. Located in Brighton, MA and Newton, MA
Swobo Nice bike/street wear
Performance Bicycle Shop I buy lots of bike crap here when I'm too lazy to ride to the bike shop
SmartFuel
Affordable (and tasty!) Energy Food for Athletes.
Broadway Bicycle School
This place is awesome. It's both a retail store and a repair shop, and they can either fix your bike for you, TEACH you how to fix it yourself, or they'll rent out their equipment and shop space so you can make repairs on your own, all at pretty decent hourly rates. It's $15 an hour for teaching, and $6 an hour for self-help.
PAC Designs Courier Bags These guys make some SERIOUS bags for serious messengers. They've got all the bells and whistles, and tons of luxury commodities to make your life easier. Very high-tech, very expensive, and very worth it. They've truly thought of everything - U-lock holders, waist belts, pen loops, one-finger strap adjustment, and even a Vista light holder. And of course they're completely waterproof and very durable, and guaranteed for life. I have a bag from CourierWare (see below)which I cherish, but seeing these ones gives me a slight pang of longing...
CourierWare
These guys make the best courier bags around - roomy, waterproof, durable, lots of pockets, etc. They come in lots of styles and colors, and you get a lifetime warranty. If your bag breaks, they'll fix it for free. Expensive, but worth it.
