A delightful, private vacation rental nestled in the pinon trees in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains with fabulous views.
Wonderful, dramatic sunsets and 60 mile views encompassing the Truchas (Trout Peaks), Picuris and Jemez Mountain ranges. To the south, the twinkling lights of Taos shine in the night.
Full of charming details, Casita Truchas has hand crafted furniture & accessories and southwestern accents. Perfectly located in El Salto, the Casita is midway between the historic Town of Taos and world famous Taos Ski Valley. It is 1 +1/2 miles off the main highway between these two, offering the peace and serenity of a rural location.
This 850 sq. ft. guest house is near, yet very separate from, a private home. It will sleep 4 comfortably with living room, sitting area with double futon, dining area with table for 4, a private bedroom with romantic queen canopy bed, fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher and microwave) and one bath with extra-large shower. There is a private Hot Tub on the deck and of course the Casita is equipped with washer & dryer, TV/VCR, CD/tapeplayer/radio and telephone.
This relaxing environment has world-class skiing, galleries, museums, excellent restaurants, sightseeing, white-water rafting, golf & other activities nearby. The Casita is located about 10 miles from downtown Taos and about 10 miles from Taos Ski Valley in a rural, residential area in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, hence our great views! We are 1 1/2 miles off the main Ski Valley Road and do prefer 4 wheel drive vehicles as we are so close to the ski area the roads can be snowy. We have a very good map available to assist you. Casita Truchas 1998-1999 Rates
- Rates vary with the time of year, length of stay and number of people.
Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available.
- Winter rates are $120 per night for 2 people and $10 per additional person up to 4 maximum.
- Christmas Holiday rates are higher and low season rates are available early season, January and April.
- Taos is wonderful in the summer as well! It's green and beautiful with normal temperatures in the 70's. Please request summer rates if you are interested.
Casita Truchas Policies
- A deposit of 50% of the total is due within 7 days of making a reservation.
- The balance and a refundable security deposit of $200 is due upon arrival.
- 30 days cancellation notice is required for full refund of deposit less a 15% handling fee.
- We are holding your reservation to the
exclusion of all others. Therefore, late
arrivals and early departures must be charged
for their fully reserved stay.
