Bergen. The second largest city in Norway (221 000 inhabitants).
It is said to be the gate to Fjord Norway. It has very stable weather
- always raining (about 4 metres of water every year).
All these pictures are made on the Bergen trip. We took this trip on
weekend at the beginning of November (5th - 7th November 1999).
We went by train and we took the "Norway in a nutshell" trip
from Norwegian railways. It was really amazing. First crossing Hardangervidda
on the train, then Flåmsbana
Of course there was some party in Bergen, disco, but as well meeting with
students from Norwegian School of Economics.
We visited the aquarium in Bergen, we were also to very nice "Jazz
& Blues Pub" (it was very impressive, because the pianist was
playing nearly only for us. In Bergen we have seen the funicular (to Fløi)
and we all made a lot of pictures, by the way Bergen has nice surroundings
as well. So, have a look.
On the left hand side you can choose part of our Bergen trip, you are
interested in, you can choose from four different parts.

So, this was Flåmsbana. We took the train from
Myrdal to Flåm, we had one whole car for us. But it was all
the way down to Flåm just look left, look right, look left,
look right. |
 |
 |
The one on the left is the best picture I took in Norway
99. It was taken from the train (Flåmsbana). On the other there
is another waterfall, you can see what we could see while looking
left and right. |
 |
 |
From Flåm, we took the boat to Gudvangen. Here
you can see the beautiful fjords that we were going through. |
 |
 |
Unfortunatelly it was already around 3pm, there was
not much light anymore, so the pictures are not so clear as those
i took there in summer 2000. |
 |
 |
Some people were rather tired from the nice fresh air.
Actualy it was quite windy, but watching the waves and fjords and
waterfalls was so interesting that most people were all the way on
the main board outside. |

|
 |
It was slightly getting dark on the boat, because it was already
about three o'clock in the "evening" and it was in Norway
in November. So...
Anyway, although it was nearly dark, we could still watch our nice
girls.

Wooden houses in harbour in Bergen, the title of the
town from the times of Hansa. Even Theresa came with her bag to see
it. |
|
 |
There was a marvellous view from the hill Fløi
when came there with the funicular, whole Bergen on one picture above. |
|
 |
Can you see that beautiful blue sky above Mariakirke
(left), can you see it??? Sure, it's unbelievable, but still it is
Bergen. |
|
 |
So, this is the surroundings of Bergen, it was Sunday
and beautiful weather as well, so unexpected in Bergen. It great ("amazing")
around Bergen, but only little bit less trees than around Oslo. But
we really did like the trip to Bergen. |
|
When you go to Bergen, it's said that you
are going abroad and really it was little bit different from Oslo.
