Issyk-Kul lake

    The trekking route ( about 180 km ) goes over 5 passes ( 3000 - 4000 m) and along the Inilchek Glacier to its upper reaches where the ascent to the Diky Peak (4832 m) will take place. People with good training can take part (grade medium - hard ).

    July - August

    Conditions:

    The climate of the Central Tien-Shan is continental, dry, with significant difference between day and night temperatures. Sometimes the sky can be in clouds and it can be cold for 2 or 3 days. At the altitude of 3500 m it snows as a rule. Be ready for these difficulties! While crossing the glacier you must be able to use safety rope. Every member must have warm clothes, raincoats, trekking boots, sleeping-bag, carrimat, trekking-sticks, sunglasses.

       Service.

Transport. Full board and lodging in hotels and tent camps. A day of rest by the Issyk-Kul lake.

Day 1:    Arrival in Bishkek. Check in a hotel.
Day 2:    Transfer to the Issyk-Kul lake.
Day 3:   Transfer to the initial point of the route at the Dzergalan gorge and a short walk to the camp site. There are archa, currants, clear water, grassy slopes and firewood for a bonfire.
Day 4:    Cross the nameless pass 3327 m. The way is simple along grassy slopes and scree. Ascent time from the stop to the pass is 2-3 hours. Descent from the pass to the Dzhergalan river along the narrow gorge (1-1.5 hours).Descent from the pass to the Tjup river valley. Altogether the hike time is 6-9 hours.
Day 5:    Cross the Ashu-Tor pass to upper reaches of the Dzhanalach river which flows into a wide valley. You can get acquainted with herdsmen's life here. Hike time is 5.5 - 5.8 h.
Day 6:    Hike to the south along the Dzhanalach river valley to Echkilitash pass (4 - 6 hours).The nice view of the summits of the Sari-Dzhaz range opens from the pass. Descent ( 0.5 hour) to green slopes near Echkilitash river.
Day 7:    After 3 - hours descent along the left slope of the Echkilitash gorge the path comes to the Sari-Dzhas and ascend to the Saridzhaski rang along its tributary - the Tjuz river.
Day 8:    Crossing over Tjuz Pass (4001 m). It is possible to by-pass the glacier walking on scree to the right. It takes you 3 - 4 hours to ascend the pass. Descend on the scree and a grassy slope to the Inilchek river. Hike time 6 - 7 hours.
Day 9:    Day of rest, short walk along Inilchek valley.
Day 10:   Trek along Chon Kyzylsuu valley, picking up by car and transfer to Issyk - Kul lake,                  accommodation in resort
Day 11-12:   Radial trekking to the Merzbacher lake and Shokalsky glacier, where between stones you can easily find nice crystals of tourmaline, quartz, fluorite, topaz and other minerals.
Day 13:    :Helicopter flight to the Diky glacier. Hike to the base camp "Inilchek".
Day 14:    Hike to the foot of the Diky peak 3 - 4 hours.
Day 15:    Ascent of the Diky Peak (4832 m).A nice view of the highest summits of Tien-Shan opens from the peak.(Time of the ascent and descent is 8 - 10 hours).
Day 16:    Return to the base camp.
Day 17:    Helicopter flight to the Maida-Adyr base.
Day 18:    Transfer over the Chon-Ashu pass to the Issyk-Kul lake.
Day 19:    Rest by the lake.
Day 20:   
Transfer to Bishkek or Almaty. Hotel.
Day 21:    Departure from Bishkek or Alma -Ata.
