I got this gun recently and, truth be told, I'd have a hard time not being enthusiastic with my first romp into the world of fully automatic airsoft. I must admit that, no, I have never fired a full blown Marui AEG. There is nowhere nearby to try one and I am still saving up to buy one. But this little piece sure is fun to start out with.
Appearance:
This gun looks like it should be carried around by a 5 year old (Though I would seriously advise against it). It is roughly 1/3 the size of the actual weapon it is based on, which, in this case is the internationally used MP5. To anyone not familiar with minis, they are low priced electricals that run on 4 AA batteries instead of rechargeable battery packs like the big boy airsofts. The guns texture is nice though, and it feels pretty solid. No. the clip is not where you load it and it is not removable. You pour BBs into the rear site. The gun is gravity fed. It is not realistic (Which, on that note, means it is not shipped with the orange paint markings.)
Performance:
Not exactly a precision piece of equipment. the best way to aim with this gun is to just watch where the BBs are going and adjust your aim accordingly. But saying that the only real use of this gun is spraying, that isn't too difficult. It doesn't fire that far, but for the price you pay it is a nicely performing weapon.
Negative Points:
Not many that I haven't mentioned. It is gravity fed, which means that it will not fire straight up. It doesn't always fire; sometimes 1 out of 3 shots doesn't go. Another rather bothersome feature is that you have to hold down the safety when firing, or else it goes back into the safe position. This may also cause problems for lefties, as the safety is on the left side.
Price:
I got mine for $25 plus shipping and handling from Tapco. They are actually a real steel accessory supplier, but they carry a couple UHC airsofts at low prices. Pick one up if you got some change kicking around.
