The car has been in our family since 1986
Good things:
Just passed MOT (click
here for current & previous MOT details)
Tyres: all four pretty new,
and spare OK
Engine: No oil burning, Cooling
system OK, No oil in water and vice versa, Still very powerfull
No drive train problems, differential
OK no leaks, the car is extremely quiet up to 90-100mph (of course
rarely venture to these speeds)
Most electrics OK: sunroof,
windows, central locking
New battery
Not so good things:
Rust on door bottoms and some
other places - too long at seaside !
General body is tatty
Some electrics don't work: cruise
control (wires near connector need repairing), temp gauge does not register
approx 1 in 3 trips (probably faulty sender - have spare), fog lights,
slight water ingress to boot well.
Once in a while gearbox refuses
to engage instantly. This only happens whilst engine is warming up from
completely cold
