How to Process Prints on RC Paper

Step	Purpose	Time
Developer Dektol (mix 1:2 with water)	Converts into visible metallic silver those crystals in the paper's emulsion that have been exposed to light	1 to 2 minutes
Stop (use straight)	Halts the action of the developer	15 to 30 seconds
Fix (check first; use straight)	Renders the image formed by the developer permanent, and removes undeveloped silver halide crystals	2 to 4 minutes
Water Wash (plug the sink)	Removes all chemicals	3 to 5 minutes

Notes:

use tongs, not your fingers!
agitate chemicals gently while paper is in the tray
leave tongs resting on the sides of trays, not in the chemicals
it may seem confusing that the times are variable -- welcome to the art of black and white darkroom photography! Your best bet as a beginner is to pick a time and stick with it. Once you've become more advanced, you will have the opportunity to experiment with different techniques and will better understand the outcomes you produce
when developing test strips, develop them for the full time, but you may cheat by only dipping them in the stop, fix and water. This only works if you plan on throwing them out after you've picked the time for your enlargement.
