Active Minds - Petrograd split-LP =
This may be one of the best records that A.M has put out... As always they deliver really good lyrics and some awesome songs... But they´ve changed the sound to a bit more punkrockish sound I think, but it´s still that shitty feeling over it which is great... And the singer is still a hero...
Petrograd on the other hand, plays melodic mid-tempo punkrock, with great lyrics as well... The vocalists gives the music a bit of a melancholic feeling, but there are happy moments too. I guess I should hate this,as the hardcore crustie I am...haha, but I really like this one, there is a great reggae-song in there too which I just can´t seem to stop listening to.
The color of the record is one of the coolest I´ve ever seen, it´s red with some kinda black tiger stripes on it, whoa!!
Hulkarsle #5 / Rockstar ate my hamster #2 -zine =
So...Hulkarse´s back... If you´re into that kind of "I´d rather die than make a bad joke" P.C stuff you should definately not read this one. You would just ruin your day... But for those of us who can say that we still have a weird sense of humour left after all the P.C punkfashionpolice-brutality I really recommend this one. Besides all the other stuff, like the crustombudsman and the poems and all other shit there is also some really good interviews that are worth reading with bands like: The John Doe Band, Earth Crisis (Karl must really be a lunatic), the editor of "rockstar ate my hamster fanzine, and plenty more.
Rockstar ate my hamster is a pretty new zine, and i remember that I didn´t like the first issue too much, but this one is definately better, interviews with The Jailbirds and more... Also some good articles/thoughts in there. I really look forward to the next issue of r.a.m.h...
