Overboard has you controlling a pirate ship.  You must navigate your ship through various obstacles and collect treasure until you reach a whirlpool which takes you to the next level.  There are enemy ships, gun forts and other such things which try to sink you, and of course lots of powerups to combat them with.

Graphics and rather simple, but very effective for this genre, it runs smoothly, and is nicely rendered.  The view is either an isometric type view, which is changeable to a 3rd person or 3D top-down.  Sounds are also somewhat simple, but the game does seem to be aimed at younger people, and it is very well presented while keep itself uncluttered.

The loading times are amazingly slow.  I don't know if it is just inefficient, or just more complex than what it looks.  The weapon selection could be better, and it would have been nicer to get more on the screen at once, because with the weapon ranges, it is often hard to avoid being hit as you don't see the enemy until it's too late.   Good family fun.
