Sambo focuses on the range of grappling, using techniques similar
to those of other grappling styles,
but also some that are very different.
While also using joint locks and chokes, it has many (many!)
techniques aimed at and around the area of the legs, knees, and ankles.
Someone experienced in Sambo can often defeat a more experienced grappler
that is not trained in defences to Sambo's simple and effective attacks.
