The Reason of Wonderland

Alright, I suppose you may wonder why I call my page "Wonderland". Truth is, Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking glass are my favorite childhood stories. I read almost ever version I could get my hands on. Now, I've carried this slight obsession on with me. I've reshearched LEWIS CARROLL, a mathmatical genius, who wrote the stories. Charles Dodgson, Lewis is just his pen name, wrote his wonderland stories to entertain a young girl who was about 8 years old by the name of Alice Liddel. He also told them to her two sisters but the stories were mainly made for Alice(hense the name he chose for the girl).

It is said that Charles Dodgson was a heavy drug user. Although there is no real way to prove he was. It isn't that hard to take that into consideration when reading of Alice's adventures. She deals with a catapillar who smokes a pipe and lives on a shroom, she is constantly eating or drinking things that make her larger or smaller or who knows what, she see's a cat that disappears and reappears sometimes only with a smile, she watches a baby turn into a pig, she hears voices talking to her when no one is there and talks back, and a million and two other things. I think Charles couldn't possibley have written about or even want to writre about so much drug abuse unless he had taken into the pleasures of sin himself.

It is also said that Charles had a passion for children, young children and preferably girls. This is most likely the one thing I dislike him considering I'm a borderline feminist. Although, taking into consideration the time of which he was alive and the fact thathe was probably a heavy drug user...I don't hold it against him but I do NOT approve.

Above all, taking in all bad. Alice in Wonderland is the most amazing story ever. When getting an original version, not only do you recieve two stories of Alice's adventures, you also get some poems, and a few letters he wrote for the people(usually directed towards children)reading his stories. I think above all Charles' goal in life was to make people happy. I don't think he was much of a cheery person himself....as far as i know, he kept to himself and felt very odd around other people. But I will always be inlove with Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the Looking Glass however it is interpreted. I've loved ever book I've read, ever movies I've seen and every play. I think an adult on drugs is much like a child in ways of thought and visions....so being me, never wanting to grow up...it's a way to enlight myself from time to time....to never forget...the light at the end of the tunnel and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

And that is why I use the name Wonderland.
