R.E.M. is my favorite band.  The band's current members consist of Michael Stipe(vocalist, synthesizer), Mike Mills(bassist), and Peter Buck(guitarist).  The band was formed in 1980 in Athens, Geogia; and is currently still recording music to this day.  After thier 1997 release, "New adventures in Hi-Fi", Bill Berry, R.E.M.'s percussionist left the band.  R.E.M. is planing releasing a new album titled "Reveal" in early May of 2001.  R.E.M. has had such great hits as "Driver 8", "Man on the Moon", "Loosing my Regligion" (I sure as hell will loose my relligion, if i don't listen to r.e.m.!), "What's The Frequency Kenneth?", and thier newsest single "The Great Beyond"; which was the title song of the 2000 movie staring Jim Carrey, Man on the Moon.  R.E.M., today is known to many people as the most influential band of all time.
