How did I get interested in motorcycles? |
My first bike was a 1976 YZ80. After I ran that thing into the ground I got a 1995 XR200 as an Christmas gift (but I did have to pay for it, so I'm not sure how it was a present??) I kept the XR for exactly one year untill by body screamed "MORE HP!!" I then moved up to a 1995 KDX 200. I modified the hell out of that thing and it treated me great. Now I'm 6'3" with a '97 KX 250 and it's a hell of a handful. That thing rips hard! I'm sticking with the KX for now, untill she throws me off one too many times. |

When I turned 16 I was lucky enough to have a 1985 Honda FT Ascot 500 waiting for me. That bike was great, we still have her in the back of the garage too. But the old Ascot was soon outlived. Even though I was the only kid at my high school at the time with a motorcycle, I wanted more power and better handling. I then began to ride my father's BMW K100RS. That thing was a beast! It sure was fast compared to the Honda, but it was heavy as hell and the shaft drive made the bike dive into the corners. To this day, I still believe that bike taught me how to really ride. For a skinny 155lb kid that BMW was hard to hold upright when stopped. Thankfully so, my father met a Ducat enthusiast and the rest is history. One ride Mike Reily's Ducati 900 SS and the BMW took a back seat. Within a few weeks my dad was negotiating a deal for a used Ducati 916. I was now riding the BMW full time and my dad was carving away on his new 916. Great plan, but the BMW was no match for the 916 and I couldn't keep up. So we found a used 1998 Honda SuperHawk in the local paper for pennies. We snatched it up and I've been riding that thing ever since. The SuperHawk loves wheelies and corners!! So whats next, a 996? |

Right now I'm a freshman at York College of PA getting my Mechanical Engineering degree. I love college, but I can't ride at school. And that SUCKS!! I mountian bike and run but its still not the same. Nothing compares to a warm weekend when I can go home for a nice ride on the SuperHawk! |
