I doubt anyone cares about this, but I"m going to tell you anyways. We're from one of the clans of Scotland that at one time occupied part of the Highlands. Which parts I don't know, but we're from there. Our clan, clan Chatten, is a clan made up of a bunch of other clans. I think we did that to better protect ourselves from some of the more violent clans that would seek to destroy us, but I don't know for certain, so don't quote me. Anyways, right now no one can trace our roots past my Grandfather's grandfather. Some people think we're French, but I highly doubt that. What I think happened is, one of my ancestors decided to leave the clan and go elsewhere, and he got sick of saying "I'm blah blah blah of the clan Chatten", so he just started saying "I'm blah blah blah Chatten". to make things easier. Then he had kids and stuff and they moved around and went to England and stuff. |
