  Other interests

  I co-run the school D of E unit. Last year we put 52 boys through their bronze award and most started their silver. I am responsible for dealing with the expedition side of things. I also run Exeditions and training for the award for Herts CC. I run 3 courses a year in Snowdonia for practice and assessment expeditions.
  At present i am involved in leading a group doing a John Muir discovery Award. I am helping 11 students discover, explore, conserve and share the local environment.
  I do freelance work running outdoor sessions for groups including raft building, orienteering, archery, team building, conservation studies, abseiling and trecking / camping
  I am involved with the local Sea Cadet unit. I teach seamanship, writter/stores air rifle shooting and parts of general seacadet advancement training. I am responsible for running the stores, ordering uniform and badges, checking all items recieved and accounting for all the kit out on loan.
  I have been a trustee for a charity called AYME. Part of my role there was to look at fundraising and grants for projects as well as the overall running of the charity and dealing with the finances. One of my previous roles within this charity was to moderate the message board which took a lot of patience and the ability to listen objectivly to both sides of an arguement.
