So why bother with this little link of faith?

Good question I say. Well, this little link of faith means a whole lot to me. As well as the climbing and cycling and all other such insane, adventurous interests, God seems to hold it all together (as well as me physically) in one holistic package.

DON’T GET ME WRONG. I still love climbing and all the other sports and outdoor adventures that are on offer on this planet. I am not an incredibly different person since taking on Christianity seriously. Gees, I still suffer from caffeine addiction, self-centredness and a few other vices that you would know if you knew me.

This faith thing is very small yet very POWERFUL… get it? Good!

What is faith?

Simply (for me) God is Love and Jesus saves. That’s it in essence, but since I have two degrees behind me I guess this faith thing had to appeal to this bunch of spaghetti (my brain) sitting within this coconut shell (my skull - thanks Peter Blase for that analogy).

Faith is believing in what you cannot see. It is knowing that there is a greater purpose and destiny when there is no great tangible piece of evidence.  It IS a heart step as much as it is a HEAD step… but the further you delve into it… you will find it a step that works…. And not by any such crazy magic but by sincere seeking on my behalf.

For me, God is a mate as much as he is the Creater and Omnipresent and Holy. Which makes Him a whole lot easier for me to relate too than some far off dude who's voice can only be heard by those wearing long black robes and vowing to rights of Chastity their whole lives. For some, this may appeal, but I think for the bulk of us this just doesn't cut it. For me, I'm sorry, if God can't relate to little imperfect me where I am… then I can't relate to Him… write?

Well, I guess that is why he gave his son … CLICHÉ!!!!  Yes it is a cliché. But for me, there is more than enough EVIDENCE (from the Bible AND other sources) that this is what this guy said in his short 30 so year visit to Earth.

Anyway, if you sincerely reckon that God has an iota of time for you, then maybe you could give him one of yours and see what he has to say… If it is simply.. I LOVE YOU, then you will know there is MORE to be gained.

I want to ask questions.. DO IT! The further you know what all this faith thing is about, the more it will mean.
