Checklist To Use Before Going Out To The Field

Written By: Keith G Kuzujanakis

Don't forget to bring to the field:

1: Container of water
This is a must have for me. If during the game I break a ball, or get shot on the barrel (it is ported), I need to clean it out after the game. I carry a sports bottle (just long enough to dip the barrel all the way into) to the field. I just remove the barrel from the gun and "swoosh" it around a bit, does wonders for removing the paint from those holes!

2: Roll of Paper Towels
Great for all around cleanup after a game. Guns, Mask, Self! Never leave home without this!

3: Tools and Spare Parts
I always bring a toolbox with all the tools I need to tear down my gun. You may not need to do it often, but chop a ball with the bolt, or have an o-ring break and you are in trouble without them. Also carry a complete set of o-rings and gun oil, just in case!

4: Spair CO2 Tank, even if you are using HPA
I am now using compressed air, but I always bring along a full 20oz CO2 tank just in case. You never know what can happen, and you don't want to be stuck without a power source. I have showed up to the field before, and they were out of air. If you are already using CO2, this will be just as benificial. If you run out of CO2 on the field, you will get much better performance from your pre-filled spare. That ice cold CO2 tank you just got filled at the field will have low pressure for a while until it warms up. This is especially true in cold weather!

5: Squeegee
Range and accuracy sucks after you break a ball in your barrel. If you do this in a middle of a game, the only thing you can do is get out that sqeegee and go to work! Just don't let anyone see you do this, as it leaves you quite vulnerable to attack!

6: Food
You didn't come to the field just to play for an hour or two did you? Of course not, you came to play all day long! Don't forget to bring along a snack or too to keep up that paintball energy!

7: High Top Cleats
I used to always play in old hiking boots. Now as comfortable as these were, I just didn't get the traction I needed for those critical fast moves. Cleets will give you that advantage and sure footing that you are bound to need. I highly suggest high tops also, as you surely are not running along flat surfaces, and you can use the ankle support!

8: Batteries for your Hopper
So you have done that trigger job and you are pushing 10+ balls a second out your barrel... This won't do you a bit of good if your hopper can't keep up, and it won't if the batteries are dead!

9: Anti-Fog Spray
Anti-Fog masks are better, but it you don't own these, the anti-fog spray does great. Nothing worse than being in a heated game and having your goggles fog up and your vision limited!

10: Your Friends
Although it is fun meeting people and playing with playing with people you don't know, it is even more fun tagging your buddy with that paintball and giving him a hard time about it on the ride home!
