The Tip from the HeartDon't exceed you 90% of your max heart rate for very long. It puts a lot of stress on your heart. |
For those just starting out, you really don't need a training program yet. Basically all you need to do is get out and ride (what are you doing reading this). Start the first week with rides about 20 to 30 minutes. Don't over do it though, you'll be sore and hurting. Ride at least 3 times a week and keep that heart going. At this level you don't need to worry about your heart rate just get out and ride. Any activity will help you.
