This is one of the first topside grinds you should learn
because it is one of the easiest. The only hard part
is that you have to learn it on a rail first.
Going slowly, head towards your favorite grind object at 45
degrees. You'll want to be on your unnatural miszou side because
the trick is topside, so just come at it from the opposite
direction than you normally would a miszou.
When you get to about a foot away from the curb, jump up high.
Place your front foot into the farside soul position
(described in the topside soul tutorial) and put your back foot
into a frontside. Locking in the front foot is very important,
so watch it closely. The back foot is just along for the ride,
so don't worry too much about it. Try and ride this
stance out for the whole grind, and then exit as you normally
would from a miszou.
As you get more confident, start bending your soul foot over
more and more. It is easiest to widen your stance
so you can bend your foot topside more. You need to lean
forward as much as possible to make the front foot topside.
When you are more proficient, try to start this trick with
your foot topside (instead of farside). This will make it
look better, and will give you
more confidence in you own ability.
To exit now, let both feet slide out of their positions and
hop off the rail to land forwards. For more
style, push off hard with your back foot, and
spin around enough for a 180 dismount.
You just did a sweatstance.
If you want something more fun, try the trick backwards.
It is a kind grind when done backward.
