The Punk Style.......

I remember as a kind in the 80s listening to Punk bands like TSOL, Generation X, The Damned, The Sex Pistols, Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys and Black Flag. The Punk Movement had already kicked into effect before I was born and by the time I was really into it the Movement was beginning to phase out with record companies concentrating on crap like R/B, Hip-Hop and Rap. I however loved the whole image given off by Punk. Not the trashy I wear dirty clothes and have body odor image, but the image of teen angst. The clothes just gave off the message, "Hey fuck you!! This is the way I dress and if you don't like it then tough shit, this is the way I dress!!" When I got really hooked on Billy Idol I began trying to dress like that. I know what you're thinking, "Billy Idol isn't real Punk." Well my mom didn't really go for the idea of her seven to eight year old son dressing in Punk clothes so I had to hold out for awhile. Then came the "Cyber Punk" album Billy Idol had put out. Cyber meaning the digital age and Punk which is pretty self-explanatory. The look basically consisted of futursitic-styled clothing, scrap-pieces of computer hardware made into jewelry and other items. The look I went for basically consisted of military tactical pants, combat boots, cuff-off sniper gloves, Constantana Wire Strap which is no more then a strap with a snap-clip arouind the leg, Japanese-Anime shirts, motorcylce-chain bracelet computer hardware jewelry , aviator sunglasses, sometimes an eye-patch and spiked hair. The whole concept of the "Cyber Punk" lifestyle is the same as punk only those who are inclined to the digital computer age, ie. hAcKeRs. Below you will find some Punk pics that I pulled from one of my favorite movies Return Of The Living Dead. Enjoy.
