She was born at Washburn, June 1, 1891, daughter of Edward and Nellie (Annas) Hines.
Mrs. Gibson attended Washburn schools and was a graduate of Bates College where she majored in education. She taught at Washburn High School for several years.
She moved here In 1936. She was a member of the Lewiston United Baptist Church and was a past president of the church's Women's Society.
Mrs. Gibson was also past grand matron of the Grand Chapter of Maine, OES; past matron of the Coldvale Chapter, OES; past worthy high priestess of the Rugged Cross Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem: past district deputy president of Prosperity Rehekah Lodge of which she was life member; past president of the Women's Literary Union of Androscoggin County.
She was also a member of Bates Key, Royalty Court of Amaranth of Portland and the Lewiston-Auburn YWCA.
Her sole survivor is a foster daughter, Mrs. Edith Dahlgren of Warwick, R. I.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Teague and Jenkins Funeral Home, 391
Main St.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside Cemetery, Washburn
