WASHBURN -- Military funeral services for Air Force SSgt. Duane A. Stoddard, 35, will he conducted in the chapel of the Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle Thursday at 2 p.m. with Chaplain (Capt.) Harold C. Geiss of Loring AFB officiating.
Full military honors will be provided by members of the 42nd Bomb Wing of Loring AFB.
Burial will be in Riverside Extension Cemetery in Washburn.
Friends may call at the Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Stoddard died on Guam while on temporary duty from Pease AFB, Portsmouth, N.H., May 15 [1968].
He was born in Washburn, Jan. 28, 1933, the son of DeForest and Edith (Thomas) Stoddard.
Stoddard had entered the service on Dec. 28, 1951, with the United States Air Force. He had served in Germany and was on his second tour of duty on Guam. He was a veteran of 17 years military service.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lorraine Michaud Stoddard, a son, Ricky, two daughters. Linda and Diane, all of Nashua, N.H.; his mother of Washburn; three brothers. Wendell of the U.S. Navy in Viet-nam, Elmer and Robert, both of Washburn; two sisters, Mrs. Roberta Blaise of Nashua, N. H., and Mrs. Phyllis Cornett of Detroit, Mich.; two nephews, three nieces, several aunts and uncles.
