WASHBURN -- Berton G. Randall, 84, died at a Presque Isle hospital Tuesday following a long illness.
He was born at Wade March 31, 1882, son of George and Abbie Jane (Jordan) Randall. Mr. Randall had been a resident here for the past 25 years and was a member of the first Baptist Church of Washburn.
He was a member of Industry Lodge, and of the Foresters. He was also a member of the tents of Macabees of Mapleton, a former cook with Battery B, 152nd Field Artillery Battalion, of Caribou.
Mr. Randall is survived by his widow, Eva (Ally) Randall of Washburn; four sons, George of Etna, Eugene of Levant, Forrest and Sheldon, both of New Milford, Conn.; six daughters Mrs. Lula Lovely of Lekhart, Ind., Mrs. Abbie Bonner and Mrs. June Boyce, both of Weymouth, Mass., Mrs. Florence Howe and Mrs. Eva Berry, both of Ashland, Mrs. Alteen Monson of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Mrs. Lula Butterfield of Danforth; 35 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Eric Davidson, pastor of the first Baptist Church of Washburn, officiating.
Interment will be in Riverside extension cemetery in Washburn.
