She was born at Washburn, September 10, 1878, daughter of John M. and Emily (Braddock) Whitten.
She was the widow of Dexter Chase, and was a member of Grant Memorial Methodist Church and the Prosperity Rebekah Lodge of Washburn. She had been a teacher in Washburn for many
years and had lived in Presque Isle for the past 30 years.
She is survived by a son, Eugene of Schenectady, N. Y.; three daughters, Mrs. Lolla Stoddard, Port Fairfield, Mrs. Stella Humphrey, Presque Isle, and Mrs. Julia Nann, Somerville, N. J.; six grandchildren and eight great - grandchildren.
Friends may call at the R. W. Wight Funeral Home on Dyer Street Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of the Funeral Home Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold J. Rowley, pastor of the Grant Memorial Methodist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Carter, pastor of the Mapleton Methodist Church.
Burial will be at the family lot in Riverside Cemetery in Washburn.
