VIOLET F. FARRAR

MONSON - Mrs. Violet Frances Farrar, 71, died at her residence in Monson after a short illness.

She was the widow of the Rev. Erold R. Farrar.

She was born December 31, 1889, at Monson, daughter of Samuel and Ida Marcia (Scott) Pennington.

She had attended Monson schools and Farmington Normal School. Prior to her marriage, she taught in Monson for nine years. She served, with her husband, in parishes at Norridgewock, North Berwick, Washburn, Ellsworth, and Buckfield. She was a member of the Tisbury Manor Chapter of D. A. R., Monson, and she was a member of the Buckfield Community Church, Stella Grace Philathea Class and the Women's Christian Temperance Union.

She is survived by two daughters, Miss Marilyn J. Farrar of Gorham, Mrs. Clarence H. Case of Monson; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Steward of Monson, Mrs. Harry Crowley of Lewiston and Mrs. August Nelson of Monson; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Monson Community Church with the Rev. William R. Huber officiating.

Bearers will be Thurlow Jones, Manfres Knowles, Forrest Stevens, Austin Robinson, Hollis Nelson, Rupert Johnson and Ansel LaPoint.

Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery. 1
