PHILIP W. LIBBY

WASHBURN, May 12 [1952] -- Philip W. Libby, 67, died at a Caribou hospital today after a brief illness.

He was born im Mapleton, June 30, 1884, son of Pearl and Inez (Flannigan) Libby and had lived in Washburn the greater part of his life.

Mr. Libby is survived by his wife, Mrs. Verna (Ells) Libby of Washburn; six sons, Everett P. of Bath, Leslie J. of Ashland, Harry W. of Washburn, Philip O. of Portland, George H. of Caribou, and Milford L. of Crouseville; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Sears of Colby; three brothers, Eli of Washburn, Richard of Mapleton, and Edward of Boston, Mass.; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie McCarthy of Presque Isle, Mrs. Bernice Nelson of Dexter, and Mrs. Marla Young of Mapleton; and 18 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the McManus street residence Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Methodist church Wednesday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Read Blackstone officiating.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Washburn, Garfield chapter, Royal Arch mason of Caribou and a member of the Methodist church.

Masonic committal services will be conducted at the grange and burial will be in Riverside cemetery. 1
