David W. Barker died at his home on Hines Street Tuesday, August 13 after a long period of ill health. He was born at Bath, N. H. in 1867, the son of Ziba and Henrietta Hoyt Barker. He has resided in Washburn for many years and was employed by C. F. Parsons Company for several years. He was also town clerk and was always interested in the welfare of this community. He was a member of Industry Lodge, IOOF, also a faithful, member of the Baptist Church and sang in the choir, never missing a church service as long as he was able.

He is survived by his wife, Aracilla Crowley Barker; a son, Vivian M. Barker; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred B Saunders, all of Washburn; a sister, Mrs Annie Farley; a brother, Elliot G Barker, both of Bridgewater.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the residence at 8:30 with the Rev. Stillman Mullen of Blaine officiating. Favorite selections were sung by Mrs Arlene Sperry and Mrs Annie Hopper with Mrs W J Churchill accompanist. The bearers were W J Churchill, W L Berce, C E Knox and H M Russell. Interment was at Riverside extension cemetery. 1
