Oscar C. Craig

Oscar C. Craig died Friday, July 13, [1945] at the home of his son, Benjamin Craig, following a long period of failing health. He was born in Hartland, N. B., November 30, 1868, the son of the late George W. and Margaret Craig of Hartland. He came to the states in his boyhood and most of his life has been lived in this section. He married Eva Nason in 1903 and for many years they lived on the Castle Hill road where Mr. Craig was engaged in farming. They have lived in in Washburn for several years.

He leaves in passing his wife, Eva Craig; two daughters, Mrs. Ella Fannigan of Washburn; Mrs. Florence Tompkins of Wade! two sons, Melvin of Patten, and Benjamin of Washburn; one sister, Mrs. Judd McGee of Hartland, N. B.; seven grandchildren, besides nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Methodist Episcopal church, the Rev. Reed Blackstone of Perham officiating. The Masonic members attended in a body. The bearers were O. K. Story, Frank McIntyre, Philip Libby, and Stanley Foote. Favorite hymns were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Blackstone, Reed and Kate Blackstone, Mrs. Emma Dow, pianist. Interment was in Crouseville Cemetery. 1
