Boer War Monument
Located on the Esplanade just inside Saint Louis Gate and across the street from the Garrison Club, was officially unveiled on Tuesday, August 15,1905.
This monument by Hamilton T.C. MacCarthy (1846 - 1939) is dedicated to the memory of 11 sons of Quebec City who died during the South African or Boer War (1899-1902).
La Fontaine de Tourny
This massive fountain in front of the parliament building, was originally commissioned by the mayor of Bordeaux, France, in the 19th century. Sculptor Mathurin Moreau created the dreamlike figures on the fountain's base. It was installed in 2007 as a gift from the Simons department store to the city for its 400th anniversary in 2008. A Bust of Gandhi (1869 - 1948)
was unveiled opposite the Parliament building On November 2, 2006. A gift from the Government of India to the people of Quebec, the bust has been designed by noted Indian sculptor Gautam Pal. [A8926A53]
