This central grassed 2 acre field was an asparagus field according to the old topographic maps of the area. The field is now mowed on a regular basis and provides an area which is multifunctional in nature. Young aspiring baseball players have been known to have started their careers on that field. Echo Hill South Picnics were held there when that was the fashion. Strategicly placed benches provide a place to rest and watch the darning needles surf the evening skies for their prey.
