The Statue of Liberty
WELCOME to Ellis Island
Does one really know how tall or big the statue really is? This is one thing I wanted to find out. You
see her on TV, but what do you have to judge the size with? To get a good shot from the front, on at the base of the statue, is near impossible! With a crowd waiting for a long period of time to get to the front, and will not give up, I wouldn't waste my time. Myself, I feel the shot isn't worth all the trouble, with the angle and distance make for a poor shot.

This is what most immigrants saw that let them know they made it.

This was the original light from the statue. Some of the broken glass is even covered with duct tape

This is what I mean about the angle and distance not giving a good shot, and this is one level down.
On the left we have one I took from a web site the other shows the back of the
statue. You are able to see how the lamp was replaced with a solid gold color.
