Valley a hit the Second Time Around!!!
Congratulations HVSC! And thank you. We have done it
again ... created a memorable specialty for all who
attended. The site was beautiful and private with shaded
parking within a short walk of the show ring. White chain
defined the large show ring gaily decorated with pots of
impatiens. Egyptian art decorated the trophy table where
Trophy Chair, Shelley Conrad, had selected limited
edition prints by Jean-Louis Grunheid for Best of Breed
and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed. Marble
pyramids, paperweights and collectable camels completed
the trophies. A copy of Baraka Book also went to first
placements and other exhibitors "in the ribbons"
received specially created notecards. Every exhibitor and
worker received our now famous Treat Bags, created this
year by Lisa Alger assisted by DJ McClain. Bev Griffith
designed the original pin included in the bags. Claudia
Jakus and her team of Ray Jakus and Winston Sawyer
created a delicious feast for lunch. Bev Griffith planned
the silent auction and with the expertise of the
tentmakers Debbie Lines, Marice and Lance Clark made our
Bedouin bazaar like a trip to the Casbah. Raffle Chair
Cheryl Rosenberger also raised funds that will assist
HVSC to continue creating a specialty that is truly
special for all exhibitors.
Thank you to our judges, Deric Aube, Ken Vagt, and Ute
Lennartz who made the crucial decisions and awarded the
placements. You created many special moments and pleasant
memories for our exhibitors.
Congratulations and thanks to all our workers. To our
steward, Paula Pascoe, who kept the show rolling. Catalog
sales were brisk for Sue Bacon. Les Butler assembled a
video of the event and Russ Hathaway captured the lovely
day on film. Linda Bade selected remarkable thank you
gifts for our judges. Barb King
displayed our archives. At lunchbreak, Debbie Lines
created a memorable attraction by unveiling a harem of
desert beauties. Trina Aube helped us end the day with a
fine dinner in Howell where we offered door prizes and
raffled off the life-size saluki won by Pierce Aube: I
also want to thank Karen Butler for her
assistance in getting messages to the committee chairs in
a timely fashion. Thanks to Tod Kraut for helping out
wherever needed. Creating this specialty has been a labor
of love. Collectively, we spent many hours making the
event a success, and it showed. Thank you for your care
and commitment to the breed and to HVSC.
Thanks also to our catalog advertisers who helped defray
the cost of the catalog. And most importantly, thank you
to our exhibitors for whom our efforts are directed.
Please come back next year and bring your friends.
