Be saved today! |

John 3:16-21
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal
life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn
the world, but to save the world through
him.
18 Whoever believes in
him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned
already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only
Son.
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world,
but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not
come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light,
so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through
God." (NIV)

What must I do to be saved?
Acts 16:30-31
30 He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs,
what must I do to be saved?"
31 They replied, "Believe
in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-- you and your household."

What must I do to be saved?
Rom 10:1-11:15 1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer
to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify
about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based
on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from
God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.
4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for
everyone who believes. 5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness
that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them."
6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart,
'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or
'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the
dead). 8 But what does it say?
"The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is,
the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your
mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him
from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you
believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess
and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will
never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference
between Jew and Gentile-- the same
Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone
who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." 14 How, then,
can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe
in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without
someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are
sent? As it is written, "How beautiful
are the feet of those who bring good news!" 16 But not all the Israelites
accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?"
17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message
is heard through the word of Christ. 18 But I ask: Did they not
hear? Of course they did: "Their voice has gone out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world." 19 Again I ask: Did Israel not
understand? First, Moses says, "I will make you envious by those who are
not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding."
20 And Isaiah boldly says, "I was found by those who did not seek me;
I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me." 21 But concerning
Israel he says, "All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient
and obstinate people." CHAPTER 11 1 I ask then: Did God reject his people?
By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the
tribe of Benjamin. 2 God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew.
Don't you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah-- how
he appealed to God against Israel: 3 "Lord, they have killed your prophets
and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying
to kill me"? 4 And what was God's answer to him? "I have reserved for
myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal." 5 So too,
at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. 6 And if by grace,
then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
7 What then? What Israel sought so earnestly it did not obtain, but the
elect did. The others were hardened, 8 as it is written: "God gave them
a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they
could not hear, to this very day." 9 And David says: "May their table
become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them.
10 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent
forever." 11 Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery?
Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come
to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. 12 But if their transgression
means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles,
how much greater riches will their fullness bring! 13 I am talking to
you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I make much
of my ministry 14 in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people
to envy and save some of them. 15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation
of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? (NIV)

What am I saved by?
1 Cor 15:1-10
1 Now, brothers, I want to remind you of
the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have
taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to
the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that
Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried,
that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and
that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared
to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom
are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to
James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also,
as to one abnormally born. 9 For I am the least of the apostles and do
not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church
of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me
was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them-- yet not
I, but the grace of God that was with me. (NIV)

How Shall I Conduct Myself as a Christian?
Titus 3:1-11 1 Remind the people
to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to
do whatever is good, 2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate,
and to show true humility toward all men. 3 At one time we too
were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions
and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one
another. 4 But when the kindness and love
of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things
we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing
of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us
generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified
by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. 8
This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so
that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves
to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels
about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. 10 Warn
a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have
nothing to do with him. 11 You may be sure that such a man is warped and
sinful; he is self-condemned. (NIV)

God wants all men to be save?
1 Tim 2:1-8
1 I urge, then, first
of all, that requests, prayers, intercession
and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- 2 for kings and all
those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness
and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases
God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge
of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and
men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all men--
the testimony given in its proper time. 7 And for this purpose I was appointed
a herald and an apostle-- I am telling the truth, I am not lying-- and
a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles. 8 I want men everywhere to
lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing. (NIV)

Do not be surprised at the painful
trial you are suffering as Christians?
1 Pet 4:12-19 12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at
the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were
happening to you. 13 But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings
of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 14
If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for
the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15 If you suffer,
it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal,
or even as a meddler. 16 However, if you
suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear
that name. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of
God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who
do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And, "If it is hard for the righteous
to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?" 19 So then,
those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their
faithful Creator and continue to do good. (NIV)

Live in harmony with one another:
1 Pet 3:8-22 8 Finally,
all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as
brothers, be compassionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or
insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called
so that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For, "Whoever would love life and
see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful
speech. 11 He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and
pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears
are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against
those who do evil." 13 Who is going to
harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer
for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not
be frightened." 15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always
be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason
for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16
keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against
your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17 It is
better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the
unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was
put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, 19 through
whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison 20 who disobeyed
long ago when God waited patiently in
the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people,
eight in all, were saved through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism
that now saves you also-- not the removal of dirt from the body but the
pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection
of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand--
with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. (NIV)

How are you saved?
Eph 2:8-22
8 For it is by grace
you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it
is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do. 11 Therefore, remember that
formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those
who call themselves "the circumcision" (that done in the body by the hands
of men)-- 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ,
excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of
the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But
now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near
through the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made
the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,
15 by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations.
His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus
making peace, 16 and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God
through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came
and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were
near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens
with God's people and members of God's household, 20 built on the foundation
of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a
holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together
to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. (NIV)

Have faith and persevere:
Heb 10:35-11:40
35 So do not throw away
your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36 You need to persevere
so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has
promised. 37 For in just a very little while, "He who is coming will come
and will not delay. 38 But my righteous one will live by faith. And
if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him." 39 But we are not
of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and
are saved.
CHAPTER 11
1 Now faith is being
sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2 This is
what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the
universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made
out of what was visible. 4 By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice
than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God
spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though
he is dead. 5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did
not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him
away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who
comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who
earnestly seek him. 7 By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet
seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned
the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. 8
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive
as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where
he was going. 9 By faith he made his home in the promised land like a
stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob,
who were heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward
to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. 11 By
faith Abraham, even though he was past age-- and Sarah herself was barren--
was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful who
had made the promise. 12 And so from this one man, and he as good as dead,
came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless
as the sand on the seashore. 13 All these people were still living by
faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised;
they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted
that they were aliens and strangers on earth. 14 People who say such things
show that they are looking for a country of their own. 15 If they had
been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity
to return. 16 Instead, they were longing for a better country-- a heavenly
one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared
a city for them. 17 By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac
as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice
his one and only son, 18 even though God had said to him, "It is through
Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." 19 Abraham reasoned that
God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac
back from death. 20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to
their future. 21 By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph's
sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff. 22 By faith
Joseph, when his end was near, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites
from Egypt and gave instructions about his bones. 23 By faith Moses' parents
hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no
ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king's edict. 24 By faith
Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's
daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather
than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. 26 He regarded disgrace
for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt,
because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt,
not fearing the king's anger; he persevered because he saw him who is
invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood,
so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of
Israel. 29 By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land;
but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned. 30 By faith
the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for
seven days. 31 By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the
spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient. 32 And what more
shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah,
David, Samuel and the prophets, 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms,
administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths
of lions, 34 quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of
the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful
in battle and routed foreign armies. 35 Women received back their dead,
raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released,
so that they might gain a better resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and
flogging, while still others were chained and put in prison. 37 They were
stoned; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword. They
went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated--
38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains,
and in caves and holes in the ground. 39 These
were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had
been promised. 40 God had planned something better for us so that only
together with us would they be made perfect. (NIV)
