Ralph Morgenweck, Regional Director

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

VIA FACSIMILE: 303-236-8295

Dear Mr. Morgenweck:

I am writing to express my outrage at the USFWS’ killing of male yearling wolves of the Chief Joseph Pack. Murdering an animal because it may act on its natural instinct to eat another animal is completely unjustifiable. If humans choose to impose on wolf territory by grazing livestock there, then those humans need to find a humane option for protecting both the livestock and the wolves.

I urge you to act with decency and compassion and to cease any potential future killing of wolves. They are a national treasure that should be cherished and nurtured, not eliminated like disposable pieces of inanimate trash. These are living, feeling creatures that deserve our protection and respect without exception. Please use your position to perpetuate progress, balance and compassion, not intolerance and death. The Chief Joseph wolves and the American people deserve no less.

Thank you for your consideration of this important matter.

Sincerely,
