Re: Preservation of Marine Mammal Protection Act

Dear Representative Horn:

As a concerned constituent of yours, I am writing to express my outrage at the Canadian government’s attempt to undermine our Marine Mammal Protection Act for the sake of profit. I am horrified that they have brutally murdered hundreds of thousands of defenseless seal pups, let alone that they now wish to pedal their gruesome products in our country. With the Protection Act, we send a clear message to the world that America will not tolerate the senseless massacre of innocent creatures which are dependent upon us for their well-being and survival. If we allow the Act to be compromised, we will abdicate our responsibility to those animals, as well as to citizens (such as myself, and 9 out of 10 Americans) who are offended by the barbaric decimation of our wildlife.

Please utilize your position of authority to protect seals and uphold the values represented by the Marine Mammal Protection Act. Do not allow our government to compromise ethics and responsibility in favor of financial interests. Thank you for your consideration of this matter and for your on-going efforts on behalf of the residents of the 38th District.

Sincerely,
