How to Hex

So you want to hex? First you need a hex editor, soon to be downloaded from here. If you don't have one go to a Search Engine, type Hex Editor in the box, and pick one out. I use Hex Workshop. Okay, here goes........

Step one:

You MUST make a whole copy of your Resource folder!! If you do not do this, something terrible could happen and you could lose something, Petz won't run, well...something bad!!

Open up your Hexer and then open a .dog or .cat file. NOT a .pet file. It must be a breed.

Step Two:

Go to Find and type in [Ballz Info]. Make sure to uncheck the Case Sensitive box if it is checked.

Step Three:

You will come to something with lots of numbers on the left and on the right will be:
e ..[Ballz Info]
..65, 244,
244,
5, -2
3,
3, 1 eB
all_ankleL,..65,

The left is not important, pay attention to the right, shown above. All the numbers you change will affect the body part below it. Like up there I am changing the left ankle.

Blue: Outline Color

Green:
Fuzz Color
Orange: Fuzz Amount ( 9 is alot of fuzz, 0 is none)
Red: Size Difference (Ignore this if you are just painting)

! The actual Hex numbers are black, this is much easier to understand !

Step Four:

If you changed the Size Difference, Red numbers, this is what you will have to do next. Search for PFM, Case Sensitive on. Now delete everything, by pressing the space bar, in between and including [Ball Size Override] and stop when you delete PFM_

Voila!! You are done! Not that hard is it...when you get an easy-to-follow instruction guide! Keep checking back to see if it is in the Afoption Center. If it isn't, you probobly messed up somewhere. Just keep trying, and never give up!! If you ask Petz Gallery nicely, she might change it into it's own breed, with a pic and name. Or try it yourself with the pretty hard steps shown there! Below is the Color Chart...courtesy of Sara Howard! If you have any questions, problems, or comments feel free to ask!
