Interior Design is a field
of great creativity whereby all types of interior spaces can be manipulated
or altered to form stimulating and functional areas in which to live, work,
and play. Career choices include working
as a freelance
designer or consultant, in association with a design studio or design
service, design consultation or furnishings display person. Job projects
can be residential, commercial, and/or institutional.
Interior designers need to be creative,
imaginative and artistic. They also need to be disciplined, organized
and skilled business people. Combining aesthetic vision with
practical skills and knowledge, interior
designers work with clients to develop design
solutions that are "aesthetically appealing,
technically sophisticated and pragmatically
satisfying."
