Raijen at 12 Weeks

Raijen growing up

Raijen went for his second shot at the vets. He was not a happy camper. He went with Zari, and they got into a scuffle at the vets office. Dr. Miller after the visit gave Raijen his first chickcicle. We took it home and Raijen loved it. It was devoured in 10 minutes. I am now looking for a place that can provide me with the baby chicks. The chickcicles are treats only, and not his normal meals.

Raijen has learned to use the furniture instead of the floor to get to where he wants to be. He jumps from the floor to an ottoman, and then onto the kitchen counter. This is where we feed him now. Gives him no competition for his food. My dogs have decided that they also like Zupreem.

Raijen has decided that it is nice to sleep in our bed with us at night. We made access for him to the bed, since he is not quite big enough to jump from the floor to the bed. (Don't want him to hurt himself) When he wants you to wake up he will slink over your head to wake you up. He does not use his claws, but sometimes he rakes his teeth across your head. He definately gets your undivided attention. He sometimes still bites when we don't wake up to the kitty on your face action. We are still trying to break him of that habit.

Raijen is off the bottle (sniff sniff). He was just biting the nipple so we decided it was time to take him off it. I will miss the cuddle time. He is eating about every 5 hours. Zupreem and Iams Kitten food dry. The Iams kitten food is mixed with the Zupreem.

Raijen is very active. He plays for hours, and then sleeps for about 2 hours. He is very tall and lanky. He weighs a little over 5 pounds. Doesn't have much kitty fat on him at all. The vet says that this is fine. He is just active and burns all that he takes in. His fur has become a little stiffer, I figure he is losing his kitty fur and getting his real fur. His spots are still very predominent. Raijen lost his first tooth, unfortunately I did not find it.

Raijen has decided that it is time to explore all aspects of the house. He decided to try the refridgerator, since his food is kept in there. He crawled right in with no hesitation. He also likes to attempt to climb walls. Haven't quite figured out why yet, but he does. Raijen loves to play with small balls. He will carry them around in his mouth, like a dog. I have to go out and find some good ones, that he can not chew up, with those sharp little teeth.

I also want to thank Paula Wilkinson, who works with Dr. Miller. She has been a godsend for me. When ever I need anything, I can call her and she does not mind answering any questions I have. I can take Raijen into the vets, and Raijen will be upset. Pauls holds him and calms him down, just with her voice and touch. She is one amazing person.

Thank you Paula
