Ira is a Himalayan rat that I rescued from yet another pet store. It kills me to see rats suffer as they do in there. When I walked up to the cage she was one of a group of about 20 in a tank, and she launched herself at the lid several times before I managed to get it off. Once out, she cuddled down in my arm and I couldn't bear to put her back in that place. She has turned out to be just as curious and outgoing as Leila has been, so I'm even more glad I have her every moment I'm with her. She was yet another instant addition to my rat cage, and was received into their home with little more than an occasional sniff. Whatever, guys.
