I suppose I better dedicate a page to my neighbor Melanie's cat, Harpurr.  That sound a little odd?  Well, the story is that for a long time, almost four years, Melanie was in love with my cat Sox.  She would pet him for hours and hours everyday, and soon he stopped coming home except for occasional food.  I got upset by this and we had some squabbles over ownership for a while, until it finally occurred to me that there was nothing I could do.  So, I gave in and became neutral.  I wanted my cat back, but I didn't want to make war over him.  Finally, Melanie's parents decided to get Melanie her own cat, so they went down to the Humane Society and chose Harpurr.  Now, there were several conditions.  One, she had to be shorthair.  Two, she had to be an adult female.  Three, she had to be a good hunter, and four, she had to be outside.  Well, Harpurr is a longhair, and she's declawed, so therefore an indoor cat and no hunter.  I don't know how exactly that happened.  But anyhow, Melanie fell in love with her and her parents were quick to follow suit, so Harpurr found herself a great home.  She is just beautiful, with a semi-longhair white fur coat with calico patches on her back, and she is very curious and playful.
