Wing clipping is a matter of debate. Some people don't believe it is fair to the bird. Think of it like this: Is it fair if the bird gets
outside and is attacked or starves.
To cut the primary flight feathers the bird needs to be use to being handled. They may or may not squawk, after all how many of you like to be held down at a hair salon. When cutting the feathers be sure to avoid blood feathers. Blood feathers are feathers that are still
growing and have a blood supply. You can tell a blood feather by the color of the shaft. If a shaft is red or pink in color DO NOT cut.
