If you see a flock of doves on Valentine's Day, you will have a happy, peaceful marriage.
If you find a glove on the road on Valentine's Day, your future beloved will have the
other missing glove.
If you see a robin on Valentine's Day, you will marry a crime fighter.
If you see a bat on Valentine's Day, you will marry a baseball player.

To discover the name of the person you will marry, write the names of all the guys and
gals you know, one name per hazelnut, and roast them over an open fire. The first
nut to pop, is the name of your future mate.
If you see a falling star on August 10, (St. Lawrence's Day) , you will dream of your
future spouse.
If you hear a dove coo the first day of Spring, the next person of the opposite sex that
you meet will be your mate.
If you tie a blue satin ribbon around your ankle, you'll be kissed by days end.
If you kiss a passion fruit on February 1st, your fantasies will come true!
In ancient Greece, tossing an apple to a young woman was a proposal of marriage, and
catching it was acceptance.
In Scotland years ago, breaking shortbread over a bride's head on her wedding day, meant
she would have a happy marriage.
Think of five or six names of boys or girls you might marry. As you twist the stem
of an apple, recite the names until the stem comes off. You will marry the person
whose name you were saying when the stem fell off.
Pick a dandelion that has gone to seed. Take a deep breath and blow the seeds into
the wind. Count the seeds that remain on the stem. That is the number of
children you will have.
If you cut an apple in half and count how many seeds are inside, you will also know how
many children you will have.
