The 8 laws of Piratedom |
Foreward: Bartholomew Roberts was the most successful pirate of the last 4 centuries (with the exception of Pirate Dan of course). Between 1719 and 1722 he captured over 400 ships, from the coast of Africa all the way to Canada and the Caribbean. He was a ruthless, but fine tailored, pirate but treated his his crew fairly and justly which is part of the reason for his success. He wrote these 10 articles that became the basis of Pirate Law. |
Article 1: All important decisons be put to a vote. |
Article 2: Any man caught stealing shall be marooned. |
Article 3: All pistols and cutlesses shall be kept clean. |
Article 4: No women allowed on board. |
Article 5: Any man sho deserts ship in battle shall be put to death. |
Article 6: All crews quarrels shall be settled on shore. |
Article 7: The captain and quatermaster to recieve two shares of booty; the mastergunner and boatswain, one and a half shares each; other officers, one and a quater shares each; all others, one share each. |
Article 8: Injuries to be compensated. Any man whom loses a limb in battle shall recieve extra booty. |
