My name is Josha Hildwine. I live in San Diego, California (that in the
USA) I'm a junior at Mission Bay High School. I got started with 3d graphics
when I took a CAD class my freshman year. I got bored of drawing refrigerator
handles and door hinges on autocad so I taught myself how to use 3d studio
4.
Sorry, I don't have any prints
for sale!
I use 3d Studio
Max r2 to make the models and Adobe Photoshop 4 for the textures.
It probably takes around 4-7 hours of work to complete a plane from start
to finish.
The process of making the models involves a technique called lofting. First
I draw separate views and cross-sections of each object in the model, like
the wings, fuselage, tail, etc. You take those cross sections and loft
them... it's kind of like extruding it into a 3d dimensional object. You
then use a fit deformation which deforms the shape of the lofted cross
section to fit the views you drew.
