PACAF'S BEST

The outstanding dedication and teamwork of Osan Air Bases Transient Alert allows for a challenging, yet friendly work environment. Osan has the single most busiest Transient Alert in PACAF; and is currently ranked second in the U.S. Air Force. Second only to Andrews AFB., Maryland which averages only 20 more sorties a month than Osan's T/A. Our skilled and dedicated tower controllers perform a 24 hr work day which makes it possible to accomplish an incredible schedule of over 400 aircraft per month. On average our Transient Alert is responsible for the care of over 5,300 aircraft a year. We've taken the time to briefly break these categories down.

AVERAGE MONTHLY AIRCRAFT
TOTAL USAF TOTAL NON-USAF TOTAL ROTARY TOTAL AIRCRAFT
170 149 127 = 447
AVERAGE AIRCRAFT YEARLY = 5,364

A large part of Osan's T/A deals with Crash Recovery response of U.S. and non-U.S. aircraft. Constant training, as seen in our snapshots page; alows for expedient response time for any emergency that may occur. Each month the team assists in approximately 14 in-flight emergencies (IFE's). In addition, the crash and recovery resonse team may be called upon to secure and remove downed aircraft.
