WHAT IS AWANA?

The acrostic, AWANA, comes from the first letters of "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed": (II Timothy 2:15). AWANA Clubs International is an excellent Bible based program which is active all over the United States and in many foreign countries. The heart of AWANA is in the gospel message. AWANA strongly emphasizes memorizing and understanding scripture while offering games and a variety of Bible related activities. The values and verses learned in AWANA help participants live Christ-honoring lives even at a young age. AWANA is part of the Youth Ministries of First Baptist Church of Keystone.
WHEN DOES AWANA MEET?

AWANA Clubs meet on Wednesdays from 6:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in our Multi Ministry Building.
WHAT AGES CAN PARTICIPANT IN AWANA?

AWANA is offered for children who are a least three years old through 6th grade.
HOW IS AWANA ORGANIZED?

AWANA is divided into age groups called "clubs". Each club has a name, handbook and activities for that age.

CUBBIES: 3 - 4 Years Old

SPARKS: Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

TRUTH IN TRAINING: 3rd - 6th Grade

WHAT GOES ON IN A WEEKLY AWANA MEETING?

Each club meeting is divided into four segments: Flag Ceremony, Game Time, Handbook Time, and Council Time. Flag Ceremony begins at 6:15 on the Multi Ministry Building stage. Game Time provides fun, develops co-operation, team spirit, good sportsmanship, and positive character qualities as teams complete. It features active, fun games that you won't find anywhere else. Handbook Time This informal, small group time provides an opportunity to challenge kids to accept Christ as their Savior and to grow in His Word. Its emphasis is on studying and memorizing God's Holy Word. Leaders build strong relationships with the kids and serve as godly role models. Council Time This segment varies from week to week and includes songs, testimonies, missions stories, prayer time, guest speakers, Bible messages, and award presentations.
